Program
- DAY 1: On this eight-day full immersion journey we will meet on Tuesday 20 October 2026 at Cagliari Airport, at 3 pm. Since our Fellowship will consist of 11 Sardinians – like you, of origin – there will be a 9-seater minivan ready and a Toyota Rav4. We will already have been introduced to each other via video calls before arrival, but now we finally meet, for a first personal exchange at the copies of the officially still enigmatic – but Stefano will tell about their symbolic importance – prehistoric Giant’s statues on the Airport.
Transfer to the first great site of the week: a beautiful nature area full of impressive prehistorical rock tombs – ‘Portal Houses’ – that used to ‘connect’ people with the Earth not only physically: a splendid place to illustrate Earth-connection, one of Prehistoric Sardinia’s 5-values message for the world: Earth-connection. You will be immediately on one of this enigmatic island’s most prominent sites, surprisingly not much visited, but since it’s recent recognition as UNESCO Wold Heritage this is your chance to visit it like it is now. Stefano will elaborate on his theories, as you may have already heard in his presentations on YouTube or in his books. There seems to be a deliberate silence around Sardinia’s magnificent past?
After this first impressive visit we land on the beautiful island of Sant’Antioco. We stay at a hotel and dine at a fisherman’s cooperative, honoring fresh products of the Sea. Revenues go directly to the cooperative, a strong Community, an illustration of yet another of Prehistoric Sardinia’s 5 values message for the world.
- DAY 2: On Wednesday 21 October 2026 after breakfast we visit the world famous Sardinian ‘Divine’ woman that still knows how to make the Sea Silk, precious ‘golden’ threads, the result of enchantments that produce a spectacular transformation. She is a fervid promotor of the message that we should be servient to Nature, the Earth, and that we are not supposed to commercialise Her. She is a splendid example of that very statement, respecting also another of Prehistoric Sardinia’s 5 values message for the world: ancestors. She will demonstrate, elucidate and produce, and she will never sell! There are things more important than money.
After our visit to her we go to a splendid site overlooking the western sea, connected to the setting sun at summer solstice: one of the more than 700 Giant’s Graves that dot this island not just for the beauty of it: was this perhaps an ancient instrument to connect with ancestors? How and why? Stefano elaborates. Somewhere there we have had our first daily lunch picnic with local Sardinian products only, of simple richness, rich simplicity, great taste, and in honest appreciation of the Earth.
Closer to the sunset we will be at a spectacular coast connected even to the Odyssee: Ulysses himself was said to have been attracted by the Sirens here, and to strand in the hands of the Cyclops. A mythical coast. We admire the sunset behind an utmost picturesque construction meant to prevent stranding on rocky shores. Back in the village of Sant’Antioco we meet a true hero of the sea: a proud fisherman with 55 years of service on the sea, that he knows so well. Back to the hotel and dinner at a family restaurant at the port.
- DAY 3: On this Thursday 22 October 2026 after breakfast we transfer to the Marmilla region to visit a master worker of obsidian, in prehistoric times The Gold of Sardinia, locally found here; his works are an illustration of the following of Prehistoric Sardinia’s 5 values message for the world: BEAUTY!
For lunch we go up on a volcanic plateau far away from daily western life, to have our local picnic lunch near one of the island’s most majestic Giant’s Graves. All 5 elements – beauty, community, earth, ancestors and destiny – come together here.
Dinner with farm produce only at our first real pure agriturismo nearby, also specially selected for its pureness. Note that we will visit also personal, extra welcoming friends of tour designer and member of our group, Samuele Pitzalis, our Dutch tour operator organising it all, and like you a Sardinian of origin himself, in his case born and raised in The Netherlands, but a proud ambassador of Sardinia’s uniqueness.
- DAY 4: Around all this beautiful knowledge and consideration on this Friday 23 October 2026 we transfer to the mountainous area that the Romans called Barbagia. (‘Those Barbarians… Wouldn’t let themselves be romanized!’) These people of course were just being truthful to themselves, because they had a sense of destiny, as Stefano will explain. (Destiny is another of the Prehistoric Sardinia’s 5-values message for the world. You see how the places and stories always relate to the content of our program?)
We visit a village that is full of tributes to Freedom Fighters – illustrating their willingness to dedicate to meaningful Destiny – internationally, painted on garage doors throughout the village. We enjoy honest local products at our lunch picnic with a spectacular view on the lake. Nearby is the village of a famous women choir, of purest voices, an impressive example of Community and Beauty!
On to the village of Oliena, where we will reside in a mountain hotel with fantastic views of the valley. This is the village of the master embroiderers, of papal level, and what a beautiful exhibition the village offers: BEAUTY!
Tonight, dinner will be in a home restaurant serving a menu with recipes coming from the highly acclaimed Nobel Prize for Literature winner Grazia Deledda: Donna Divina. Enjoy poem readings in between the courses, and explanation on the essence of Sardinia’s Blue Zone healthy longevity inspiration. .
- DAY 5: ON this Saturday 24 October 2026 in the village we admire tributes to two unexpected Sardinian heroes: a soccer player and a bandit, famous for remaining gentlemen under pressure: maintaining values high. Lunch near the river flowing out of the mountain: honoring the unending power and inspiration of Nature, Earth.
Transfer to Bitti, where we learn about the Canto a Tenores male singing, an impressive example of Comunity. The museum of agriculture is unlike any other in the world, a magnificent tribute to the Shepherd as a solitary hero, uniquely complementing his Donna Divina at home. We eat and sleep at a purest of agriturismo’s, where a woman rules it all, in beautiful countryside with sheep and cows all around.
- DAY 6: On this Sunday 25 October 2026 we visit a village famous for it’s enigmatic bronze warrior and priestess statuettes, dating from Prehistoric Sardinia. The warrior has 4 eyes and 4 arms, so he must have been able to defend something of high value. What could that have been? Stefano keeps elaborating on this, relating it to the Prehistoric Sardinia’s 5-values message for the present world. We also comment a stunning mural in the street, in which we can recognise every single of our 5 values.
We may have lunch at a local little restaurant, famous for it’s seasonal dishes, and we ‘happen’ to be here in exactly the right season. This afternoon we rest also at a purest of agriturismi in stunning nature, deep into ancient energy, where women command, and men protect. Beautiful murals here too. Here we sleep and eat what the farm presents. We keep an eye on village festival going on this weekend, and we will surely visit one, perhaps sacrificing one of the options that you just read, for there are no better examples of the element Comunity than the Sardinian village festivals! Anyway this week you will have discovered a series of festivals that you may want to come back to Sardinia for especially in future.
- DAY 7: On this Monday 26 October 2026 we transfer to Samuele’s picturesque village of Santu Lussurgiu, in one of Sardinia’s Green Lungs, rich in purest mineral water: a celebration of Nature.
On our way we visit and lunch at one of the most beautiful but still quite unknown prehistorical nuraghe tower, that we keep a secret. The name betrays its function to magnify light, as we are supposed to do too. A magnificent text heard in the inner cupola explains what we are destined to do right now in these challenging times, a metamorphosis that requires some courage, yes, to defend what needs to be defended. To ‘celebrate’ decisiveness we visit traditional knife makers that are known throughout Sardinia. After an explanation of the artisanal production you will be happy to choose from a selection of already made traditional Sardinian shepherd’s knifes. Keep it as a symbol of your ability to defend what needs to be defended.
In the evening we will dine in a farmstead in the so-called Iron Hills. On a family owned ranch where the women cook only their produce and recipes. The local olive oil, the seasonal products, the natural environment…. In this – again – not standard touristic restaurant you will taste real freshness and proudness. As an alternative we may dine in a beautiful mansion in the picturesque village centre, serving proud local food in a beautiful atmosphere. We also sleep in this historical village centre, famous throughout Sardinia for it’s community events throughout the year: Community!
After dinner we may admire the stars from the terrace of Samuele’s house, with beautiful inspiration on how to keep your own connection with ancestors, beauty, comunity, the Earth, destiny and power places, indeed also internationally.
- DAY 8: On this Tuesday 27 October 2026 we transfer back to the airport. On our way back we stop at a last impressive nuraghe complex, illustrating the decapitation of Sardinian’s grand history, while the remains still testify of it’s incredible important position, role and inspiration.
We will wind down our retreat with a closing ceremony. And then… we will waive you goodbye at the airport. In case you are staying some more days, Samuele will have showed you how to navigate this island and provided tips for your continued travels.
How will life be after this special Sardinia experience be? For sure more aware of your special Sardinian roots, and more focused on what truly matters, keeping that alive when back home, also thanks to the comunity feeling that our adventurous Fellowship will have created.
A WEEK ALONG ENERGY PLACES & THEIR INSPIRATION FOR PRESENT WESTERN LIFE
Is Sardinia the land of your ancestors but you have not really ‘been’ there? Maybe just at the coast, missing out on the Heart & Soul aspect? Are you living outside Sardinia? Are you interested in the intense richness of fascinating pre-Roman Sardinia? Are you curious about how that ‘pagan’ society could be of inspiration in our present society and personally? Perhaps even as a model to follow and keep alive, for the good of all, as a gift to the world? The Sardinian author and filmmaker Stefano Piroddi is major interpreter of a proud and noble message that Sardinia could convey to the world, with you possibly as an ambassador of that message too: ‘The renaissance, rebirth, starts with Keeping Alive the following 5 values: Beauty, Ancestors, Community, Earth and Destiny (Society Goal).
On this 8-day intensive Fellowship of 11 (Elves 🙂 we indulge in the heart & soul of Sardinia, not only learning about it’s surprisingly unknown and still most probably spectacular prehistoric past, but also on it’s beautiful useful message for the world of today, along 5 values that author and film maker Stefano Piroddi presents as a key to understand your own Sardinian roots and to Keep Alive in this present world. You will see places and persons that the average tourist will never see in one week or on his own, indeed touching on the heart and soul of Sardinia, your impressive land of origin, that you are not coincidentally drawn to.
Stefano Piroddi himself, assisted by organiser Samuele Pitzalis, will take you along an impressive selection of Sardinian energy places & people, so you will quickly become very familiar with:
– the background of Stefano’s You-Tube-presentations
– the mysterious richness of pre-Roman Sardinia
– the inspiration we could draw from it.
A few answers to questions you might have:
– this week will be from 20 October to 27 October 2026, with start and finish in Cagliari at 4pm at Cagliari Airport.
– Italian spoken by Stefano, but you may contribute in English. Samuele is there to help explain in English when it gets ‘poetic’; Stefano and he ‘speak the same language’.
– We stay mainly in rural agriturismo’s (local produce and sponsoring of locals).
– Every day we visit a selection of mostly hidden pre-Roman sites (so-called Giant’s Graves, nuraghe stone towers, sacred wells).
– There and in between visits we exchange about the 5 values Stefano suggests to Keep Alive.
– Price including all nights (sharing a double room), all meals (extensive breakfast, simply rich lunch picnic), and drinks included with menu’s at our venues, all shared transfers according to the program: 2750 euro.
– Daily program starts at 8.30 am with breakfast and lasts until 9.40 pm at dinner table.
Some experience this will be! Imagine doing all this exploring on an island that – mind you – ancient Sumerian, Egyptian and Greek sources called ‘Paradise’! Sardinia is as small as the state of New Hampshire, but it ‘happens’ to be dotted with thousands of inspiring and mysterious stone sites, great places to commune with each other and nature.
We will do this in a compact group of new ‘old’ friends on a beautiful adventure. The group size is kept small to promote an organic flow, with attention on the group’s energy. You will also enjoy non-touristic high level cultural expressions that make this Island of Myths so very special.
Does this resonate with you? If so, then please do join us on this adventure with a small group of like-minded people, all with their hearts and minds open and willing to re-discover their impressive roots. Do contact us via info@keepalivetours.com and in case you feel a strong yes too, then please fill out the preliminary registration form that you find below on this very page. We are delighted to have you join this Sardinian Fellowship?
From Cagliari, born in 1975, graduated in Law, your host for the week Stefano Piroddi is the founder and Editorial Director of “La Città degli Dei,” a cultural project that brings together a Publishing House, a Film and Theater Production Company, and an Organization for Art Exhibitions and Events, based on a worldview and life philosophy that is entirely alternative to the scientism-materialism of modern and contemporary society.
Author of the ideal and cultural manifesto “The Poetic Vision of Existence,” published in “Coloris de Limbas” (Literary Magazine) and “Parol” (Aesthetic Philosophy Magazine), in which a well-defined worldview takes shape, drawing on the traditional wisdom of the Ancients and proposing a reclamation of the concept of the Sacred in every aspect of Human Being and Nature, through a renewed ability to perceive the magical-poetic-spiritual side of Everything and every part of Everything.
Stefano about his philosophy, books, film and project, that will be the background of this week: ‘Sandahlia is the story in a spiritual key of the wars between Sardinians and Romans of the third and second centuries B.C. completely overturning the materialistic perspective of official and academic historiography: the Sense of the Sacred of a people in harmony with Nature and the Cosmos, opposed to the Dark Nothingness of an alienating and levelling Power. In the first book of the Saga, in particular, the path of growth, as a man and as a warrior, of the young leader Amsicora is narrated: his sense of predestination to a life of absolute dedication to the peoples of Sandahlia, the capacity to embody the role of guardian, as a man and as a leader, of a world of values represented by the Mother Goddess (the Dreamy Absolute) and by the Female Principle of the Cosmos (that is, the principles of Love, Balance, Creative Madness and Harmony between Community, Nature and Cosmos); his joy – not without doubts, setbacks, but also redemption – of being fully part Of a world impregnated with a poetic vision of existence and inhabited by Women and Men who were able to make their lives a Work of Art.’ Important: come if you are interested in this.
About the organizer KEEP ALIVE tours, that organizes this week: the owner Samuele Pitzalis, co-host of this week, believes Ancient places where intended to connect to the Divine, also in ourselves, and that by reconnecting with that we can re-shape out present days’ existence. Sense of Beauty and sense of Wonder are an antidote to present materialistic views, and will lead to more guided magic in our lives.’ So Samuele too is interested in rediscovering and deepening a deep connection with ancient Sardinia and with the values we discuss here. As a professional Dutch based Travel Designer he has already organized and personally materialized more than 70 ‘personal development’ group weeks on Sardinia, only 5 star reviewed on Google Maps.
We sure are excited about this project also because it brings like-minded people together: like us two to start with. Be most welcome to join us on a deep Sardinia(-roots) rediscovery journey! Mail any logistical question you may have to: info@keepalivetours.com. Your question to Stefano about this journey: stefano.piroddi100@gmail.com
All meals are included in this unique tour: breakfast, lunch and dinner from farmstead restaurants to picnics. The delicious meals are prepared with locally sourced organic produce with rich mineral content. Sardinia is an ancient volcanic island, the volcanic ash and lava deposits have enriched the soil with minerals and nutrients, making it fertile for agriculture and making the produce grown nutritious.
Magnifying the Light versus Battling the Dark, that is the question? What is our Destiny? Sardinian prehistoric places deeply inspire.
‘It is not in the pool!’ Alligned with our focus of this week, our accommodations are places that have a certain vibration especially selected for this tour. Warm friendly people! Even seemingly rustic accommodations are warm and inviting, in addition to scoring 9 out of 10 on Booking platforms.
Classical question on a Sardinia week, by Fellowship-members: ‘Why didn’t you tell us this is a culinary tour as well?’ Classical answer: ‘Well, it goes without saying.’ Don’t you worry about the food at all.
Visiting private homes too. Sardinia will probably ‘feel at home’ for you anyway. So be most welcome to share that feeling too! LOGISTICS
